Dear Members,

As the season came to an end, we as a Committee took the opportunity to review our progress as a Supporters Club over the past number of months. We hope that the number of the events and occasions listed below will bring back some fond memories for you all.

Kind regards
Your MRSC Committee

Before the season commenced, we as a Committee engaged with Munster Rugby on multiple occasions, as the voice of the supporter, our aim being to ensure the most attractive package to members – overall cost and benefits being central to our considerations. We believe that Munster Rugby really worked hard to deliver on these fronts for us as members.

Thanks to sponsors Guinness, the ability for the MRSC to provide free buses to games in Cork and Limerick for members has really grown in popularity over the past number of seasons, with the majority of these services being full to capacity and some booking out within 30 mins or less! New friendships and by all accounts some blossoming relationships have even grown from this member benefit! Some of the regulars on the buses have become the coordinators for the journeys, making sure that every person booked on the list makes it to and from the bus, thank you for all your help in making this service so successful.

Having buses from all Munster counties for the European Semi- Final was another superb free travel benefit for MRSC members and again the free buses from Cork and Limerick for the Guinness PRO12 Final, thanks to Guinness was a great success. We would like to thank all members for making each of these journeys an enjoyable experience.

At almost every Thomond Park game this season we have had at least 2 of the current squad visit the members only MRSC bar to thank you all for your ongoing support. We know from feedback that the players really enjoy meeting MRSC members, not only due to the warm welcome they receive but for the rugby knowledge that is prevalent in the questions that you ask. Pre-game in the MRSC Bar is the place to be for these visits and with everyone from International CJ Stander to Academy's John Madigan, you never know who you might meet!

""

We had a number of exclusive member Q&A's; the event with Rassie in Irish Independent Park this season being a notable occasion for all present as his honesty and coaching insight enthralled the audience. It was also a real pleasure for us to have exclusive events with members of the Maori All Blacks and our own team in the MRSC bar throughout the year.

""

Our annual electronic Munster Monster Quiz created some fun county rivalries with great nights in Cork and Limerick and the excellent final night where a team of players got involved in proceedings! Our thanks to Budweiser for the full sponsorship of the event.

The exclusive Members only visit to the brand new High Performance Centre with Munster's Operation Manager Philip Quinn allowed us a behind the scenes look at this incredible facility. 14 other competitions throughout the season allowed our members to win a wide variety of prizes from hanging the Munster Jerseys pre-match in the dressing room to Stadium Tours, 6 Nations tickets and much more.

""

As with every season, members add to the match day experience by taking part in pre- and post-match events – from Guards of Honour in and outside the grounds to handing out over 40,000 flags at home and in various stadiums and meeting points around Europe. Oscar, our hard-working mascot, helped get the crowd going at games and made many appearances at our Junior Club events including the Christmas party in Thomond Park. Some say our adult members love Oscar as much as our Junior members do!

Our MRSC Photographers are volunteers from the club who give their time in hail, rain and sun to capture the magic that is a Munster game which we share with you on the website and through our various social media channels. You, our members, have welcomed and visited with a number of opposing team's Supporters Clubs and have always done us proud. The friendly and knowledgeable attitude of our members combined with the terrific support on match days add to the growth and fostering of the link between our clubs and others and helps to make us welcome wherever we go!

This year, our Junior Club has grown exponentially with the ability to offer up to 5,000 free places to our youngest supporters, thanks to sponsorship by Inver. The Inver team have a deep belief that rugby, character and the local community are linked, so they are the perfect partner for our ethos as a Supporters Club. Their aim of providing fun, educational events for Junior members such as the recent 'Build A 'Bot' day in Thomond Park is a real positive. Other key Junior events this Season included our annual Gala Christmas party, Junior Club Job for a Day, Egg and Spoon racing at the Open Training session, multiple Mascot opportunities and great competitions.

The real tangible yet hard to measure success of the MRSC is the unwavering and continuous support we give to our team. From that a bond is formed – between us as members and supporters and between us and Munster Rugby. We are proud to stand behind a rugby team that continually strives to do their best and uphold the tradition of our great club. Every year those that attend the many games get to know new faces and names lending to the sense that we are indeed a “Red Army”. The last season in particular our ability to “stand up” with the team was needed more than ever and you all responded in droves.

We as a club are lucky to have a Supporters Club manager and office team in Munster Rugby that manage to meet the demands of our thousands of members annually. As a Committee we have an insight into the workload that is required so to Jennifer, Ciara, Sinead and the extended team we say; “thank you”.

So, as we look to next season we do so with great optimism particularly with the growth of MRSC members by a massive 30% from Season 2016/17. As always, the best ideas come from within so at any stage we welcome your views, comments and suggestions to supporterspro@munsterrugy.ie

Thank you all once again, have a great summer and we look forward to seeing you all back for 2017/18! #NoClubWithoutU
