My Day as Mascot – Rory Heffernan

Rory was our very lucky Junior Club member who got the chance to be a Munster Match Day Mascot when he won a competition in a recent e-mail announcing our new sponsor partnership with Inver Service Stations. He tells us all about his experience here:

"I had a super day as Macot for Munster last Saturday! When we arrived to Thomond Park, we met Kerry who gave me a Munster kit to wear. After that, we met the other Mascot and we went down to the team dressing room. We were waiting outside and a few players came over to shake our hands and said good luck! That was really cool.

When the team were warming up we were allowed in to the dressing room. I took lots of pictures of all the different jerseys and saw the ice baths for after the match…. With real ice! When we went into the tunnel, Billy Holland held my hand and we ran onto the pitch. It was really exciting to hear the cheers! Then we went to our seats and enjoyed the match – The score was 49-5 to Munster!

After the match, we met Elaine from MSRC in reception and she brought us down to see if we could meet the team. We were very lucky as the coach brought us into the dressing room and we met all the team who signed our programmes. It was class! What a day!"
