The Downtown Dixieland Band was formed in 2007 and played their first public gig in Boston during the 2007 St Patricks Day celebrations, since then they’ve performed at festivals (Cork Jazz Festival, Doonbeg Jazz Festival – where it was voted band of the festival on three occasions), weddings, civic receptions, corporate functions and much more. Formed along the traditional 7-piece Dixieland band line-up: 4 Horns (Trumpet, Clarinet, Trombone/Euphonium, Tenor Saxophone) Guitar/Banjo, Bass and Drums, they play original arrangements of well-known traditional jazz tunes from the 1920s – the 1950s and are sure to bring something very different to the MRSC members bar after the game.

The band is made up of 7 Limerick based members; John, Paddy, Anthony, Jody, Martin (Shannon and Munster/Ireland rugby player) Aoife and Shane. Not only this but most of the band are members of the Munster Rugby Supporters Club too!

Make sure to join us, members of the USA Branch of the MRSC and members of the Racing 92 Supporters Clubs in the bar from the final whistle for a swinging evening!

You can check out the Downtown Dixieland Band website here and their Facebook and Twitter pages here too. Take a look, give them a follow and a like and have a listen to what’s in store for you on Saturday the 21st – just don't forget your dancing shoes!
