Behind the Scenes at the MRSC 20 Dec

Your monthly update from the MRSC Committee on the latest goings on within the Munster Rugby Supporters Club.

Dear Members,

May we take this opportunity as a Committee to wish you and your extended family a very happy and peaceful Christmas and New Year.

The feel-good factor in the Munster Rugby organisation at present is creating a real energy among us the supporters, which is great to experience on our social media feeds, match days and meeting points. At the Leicester Tigers home game we continued the regular pre match player meet and greet with current team member Mike Sherry in the MRSC Bar. What struck us during the visit was how many of our long term MRSC members Mike knew by name; this connectivity cannot be underestimated and is the foundation stone of the 16^th man. We hope you are enjoying the visits.

The Member tour of the High Performance Centre ahead of the Tigers game was a fantastic experience for those lucky enough to attend. Our thanks to Philip Quinn, Munster Rugby, who led each tour group around the state of the art facility. We hope to run another visit before the end of the 16/17 Season so look out for this opportunity in a Red Letter in the New Year.

Looking beyond the upcoming key provincial derby with Leinster we have a number of members returning to Stade Olympique Yves-du-Manoir for the Racing 92 rescheduled fixture. While the kindness of the Racing Supporters on the day of the postponed match was very evident – in advance of the rescheduled game, in a phenomenal show of kindness and hospitality, their Supporters Clubs have pulled together a list of their supporters who wish to offer accommodation in their homes to Munster Supporters travelling to the game. This is in order to do what they can to lessen the cost for Munster fans returning to Paris after the outlay of the original fixture.

We have made contact with MRSC members who have purchased tickets for the game through the club to marry up persons who wish to avail of this caring and touching gesture. Members of our Committee who are travelling to the game will meet up with some of the host families to personally thank them and Munster Rugby have given us a signed team jersey to present to their Supporters Club as a thank you from all the members of the MRSC.
