Name The East Terrace – Vote For Your Favourite

You may remember a few weeks ago we asked you, the members, to name the East Terrace in the soon to be Irish Independent Park.
You may remember a few weeks ago we asked you, the members, to name the East Terrace in the soon to be Irish Independent Park.
The East Terrace is to be fully covered thanks to the contribution from the MRSC members and because of your generosity, it was decided that the MRSC should get to name it.
Many of you obliged and we had some fantastic suggestions. There are many valid arguments to name it after an individual person – Ronan O’Gara, Richard Harris, Tom Kiernan and Mossy Finn to name just a few. All of these people were very influential within Munster Rugby and stand for a lot of the values we hold dear. However, after much discussion it was decided that the name should not be attributed to any one individual.
Therefore after much deliberation between the MRSC staff and committee members we have shortlisted three names.
- ‘The Red Shed’ – Joe Noonan member 26821
- ‘The Legends Terrace’ – Gayl Kennedy 5110 (To represent all that have and continue to represent Munster and what it stands for)
- ‘The 1879 Terrace/The 1879 MRSC Terrace’ Glenn Einon 35973 (in honour of the year Munster Rugby was founded)
The winning name will be heavily influenced by you, the members, so if you feel one of these names should replace the old ‘East Terrace’ don’t forget to go to the Facebook page here to ‘like’ it and give it your vote. If you don’t have Facebook, please email ciaralyons@munsterrugby.ie with your preference.
The winner will win an East Terrace Season Ticket for them and a friend for the 15/16 Season, 2 tickets to the first Munster home game in the upgraded stadium against Cardiff on Feb 14th and of course, the honour of having come up with the name 🙂
