Junior Club: Captain Update

Tommy O’Donnell on the latest news from the squad.

"Sorry I haven't been on to you in a while, it has been pretty hectic for the last few months but all good and enjoyable – well most of it! Unfortunately we didn't get the Heineken Cup result we wanted but thankfully we are still in the RaboDirect PRO12 and have a semi-final ahead of us.

It was fantastic to see so many of our great fans travel to France again for us – they really took over Marseille, and I know we were lucky to have one of the Junior Members, Darragh Humphreys as our mascot on the day so I'm sure he enjoyed leading us out.

We had our awards yesterday in Cork and I was glad Mur (Conor Murray)won player of the year, he really deserved it. I can't believe it's a year since I picked up my own award, which was a huge honour for me. And as a Tipp man I was delighted to see Clonmel RFC and Nenagh RFC pick up awards yesterday, they both have had a successful season.

Of course Donners (Donncha O'Callaghan) was up to his old tricks, when he "tripped accidentally" going up on the stage, it's going to backfire someday and there'll be chaos when he pulls someone down with him!

We also had a send-off for our physio Colm Fuller (a Kerry man who is great at impressions) this week. He's moving to Dublin at the end of the season so we surprised him with a pile-on in the physio room in UL – it was a good laugh, and nobody got hurt which is always good when grown men pile on top of each other!!!

It's back to business this Saturday in Thomond Park for our last game of the regular season so hopefully we'll see you all there.
