MRSC CHOIR – GET INVOLVED!
I hold a full season ticket for Munster Rugby and watching rugby is a passion I’ve had all my life. In 2016, I decided that I wanted to challenge myself and indulge another passion, singing. So, I joined the Munster Rugby Supporters Club Choir (MRSCC).
Since that day, I’ve marched in the New York, St Patrick’s day parade; sang in the Irish Consulate in New York; sang in a concert in New York; sang for charitable events in Limerick and Cork; sang in the RTE studios; sang in Paris; sang in a 10-year anniversary concert in UL; sang at a Munster supporters wedding; and before Munster games in Limerick and Cork. I did not know anybody in the Choir when I joined but the members gave me the warmest of welcomes and were always ready to help when I needed it. I have made friends for life.
I had no formal training; I just like to sing. I could not read music, but the members of the Choir helped me to learn and understand a music score. There are also recordings available to help me learn and practice new songs. We rehearse once a week, on Tuesdays, at the Charleville Park Hotel in Charleville, from 7:30-9:30pm. Then in March 2020 the music stopped due to Covid.
Now, after 20 months, we are coming back, and we are looking for new members. So, if you can hold a tune and are a member of the Munster Supporters Rugby Club why not challenge yourself and discover the beauty and pleasure that singing can give you.
