Many members came along to the MRSC Bar in Thomond Park on Wednesday the 9th of November for an exclusive Q&A with both Munster and Maori All Black players.

MC Liam Ahern welcomed Maori All Black players Ben May and Jason Emery, along with their Kaumatua Luke Crawford to Limerick. They were joined in the MRSC Bar by Francis Saili and Munster newcomer Kiwi Rhys Marshall.

A very enjoyable evening was had by all, opened with some thoughts from one of our latest signings – Rhys was asked how he was settling into life in Limerick and told of how he didn't need to acclimatise to the weather, having just left a wet winter in New Zealand!

Our Maori guests were questioned on the significance of the Haka and if they practice it much. Jason Emery explained they practice it quite a bit as there are some versions that some of them would not be very familiar with. Luke Crawford went on to explain that the Haka is a spiritual thing and that a particular version is chosen to suit an occasion.

Being a Kiwi, Rhys admitted that it will be strange facing the Haka but that he is looking forward to it. Saili added that he would of course love to be playing and is looking forward to getting back to full fitness.

Questions were opened to the floor and to finish off there was some banter about the upcoming Ireland v All Blacks match in The Aviva. Our Maori visitors all expect a backlash from the All Blacks so lets hope they are wrong!

Thanks to all our members who attended and we hope you enjoyed the evening. The full Q&A can be viewed below:
