Message from Dave ‘Killer’ Kilcoyne

In introducing myself as this year’s Supporters Club Junior Captain, can I just say yes it’s Dave Kilcoyne here, but as I know we’re all going to be buddies I think you guys should know me by my nickname – Killer – a nickname I inherited from my dad.

Greetings Junior Members!

I'm really looking forward to the year ahead and I know quite a few of you have already received birthday cards from me this month so I'm just touching base now to check in with you all.

We're back from Italy after our last European Cup game of the season which is hugely disappointing, but what has been great to see in the past two weeks is the incredible support that has rallied behind us even when we only had the slimmest chance of getting through to the next stage.

Treviso last weekend was like an away version of Thomond Park the previous week, it was really humbling to see everyone make such an effort in supporting us. As a squad we know how lucky we are and now just need to push on in the PRO12 for the rest of the season.

So we were back in training this week with another away trip to Italy this weekend, this time taking on Zebre. With all the travelling we try and keep ourselves entertained where possible during the down-time so it could be a movie or a game of cards in the hotel the night before the game – nothing too hectic, although a simple game of cards can get very heated! – too many competitive people in one room I guess!

Anyway, I just wanted to touch base with you all as your new Junior Captain for the year and I hope to see you over the next few months – maybe you will be at our next home game in Irish Independent Park against the Ospreys on Sunday 14th of February – tell your parents it would be a very romantic way to spend Valentine's Day!!

All the best,
Killer
