The Giant Draw Has Raised 50,000 Euro

Another year, another successful Giant Draw, this season the Draw alone has raised 50,000 euros with a grand total of 72 prizes delivered to lucky members from all over the world!! Members, give yourselves a round of applause!
Another year, another successful Giant Draw, this season the Draw alone has raised 50,000 euros with a grand total of 72 prizes delivered to lucky members from all over the world!! Members, give yourselves a round of applause!
The MRSC staff and committee would firstly like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who entered the Draw and of course all the businesses and sponsors who kindly donated a prize. All profits from the Draw go directly into the Munster Greencore Academy who are very appreciative of the contribution of the MRSC and its members.
Elite Player Development Manager, Peter Malone is humbled by the support of the MRSC year on year.
“There’s no doubt that the money raised by the MRSC and the Giant Draw goes a long way in facilitating the growth of young talent in Munster. We use the money specifically for funding initiatives, outside of the rugby skills, but which are hugely important in terms of the development of professional athletes, for example – Mental Skills workshops, Nutrition courses and Player Education. The money raised by the MRSC allows us to bring in outside speakers to coach the young men on things like lifestyle management, college, rest and recovery and more. In particular, we are now able to employ the services of Dr Catherine Norton, the Munster Senior Squad Nutritionist to work with the Academy players around their diet. This has shown a massive increase in strength, muscle mass and a noticeable decrease in body fat.
We are very proud of our success stories, most recently the inclusion of Jack O’Donoghue and Darren Sweetnam to the Senior Squad. We hope to continue to produce that quality of player, thanks to the massive contribution from the members of the MRSC.”
