The latest fun bus from the MRSC London Branch added their voice to the sizeable Red Army attendance at the AJ Bell Stadium last Saturday.
Given the early kick off/distance involved, the bus set off from the main Central London base Rudds at 7.15 am. The four hour drive to Manchester flew as those on board enjoyed some DVD’s of previous famous away victories for Munster in Europe. The last mile to the ground seemed to last a lifetime with the impressive stadium being in sight and the nerves kicking in. However, everyone on board was confident Munster would do well.
Munster always like to do things the hard way and the outstanding finish to the game started what was a solid 15 minutes of pure jubilation for the away fans present. The team came back out on to the field after the game to applaud the support that was there, which was very well received, and before long, the London Branch were on the bus into the official MRSC meeting point, the Walkabout.
The rest of the day’s rugby was consumed, replays of Munster’s win cheered, and another famous win celebrated with many fans joining London Based Irish trad band Celtic Crunch on stage to belt out a favourite song or two.
Sundays return trip to London was long but the win, as always, made it another Munster weekend not to be forgotten anytime soon.
The MRSC London Branch meet in Rudds Bar (148 Queen Victoria Street, London, EC4V 4BY)to watch all live Munster games and pool travel/ticket purchases for UK/French based games, where possible. They are busy planning events for Munster’s game in London in January. For more details email mrsclondon@munsterrugby.ie
