Fan Focus – Stories From Our Members

Throughout the last two years members have been writing to the Munster Rugby Supporters Club with their Munster Rugby tales, trials an tribulations. These stories were printed in the match day programme throughout the season. We will now publish them on our website for some light reading during the off season. The first story is from MRSC photographer Ivan O’ Riordan. Enjoy! A WONDERFUL MUNSTER RUGBY AWAY MATCH EXPERIENCE by Ivan O’Riordan "My most memorable experience in recent times has to be the match against Northampton Saints in Milton Keynes last season. My friends Mick, Paschal, Des and I, lodge money to a joint bank account on a weekly basis in order to travel to important away matches so we had sufficient funds to travel in style. The excitement for me started the day before the match when an email arrived from the media manager of Northampton Saints. My application for accreditation as a photographer was accepted and I was to be pitch-side for the match. As an accredited photographer with the Supporters Club it was a most pleasant surprise. We arrived at Stansted Airport and a taxi was awaiting our arrival to take us to Milton Keynes and the Hilton hotel. Having checked in we repaired to the bar but no drink for me as I needed to have a steady hand on the camera at the match. The atmosphere was electric and tense at the same time. We mingled with the Saints supporters who warned us of a backlash in revenge for ROG
