Champagne Moments 15 May

Again, we would like to thank Shaun Payne for taking time to answer some questions from Supporters. How disappointed were the management team and squad with last Saturday’s performance? We had desperately wanted to finish the Magners on a positive note for several reasons not least being it was Axel’s last game and we fell badly short. The squad and the fans paid "Axel" a great tribute on Saturday – what do you think were his greatest strengths? He had so many. He was a great man to read a game first of all. Saw how plays were developing and was quick to react. He had a great footballing brain. He was a great organiser, great motivator. And he was tough, Very athletic, good carrier of the ball as evidenced by the number of tries he scored. Just a great all round player. An inspirational figure in any squad. How are the preparations going for the big one on Saturday week? So far so good. The knocks look to be clearing up and hopefully there wopnt be any more in training in the lead up. When will you travel over to Wales and what will the routine be like? On the day before. Friday morning from Shannon. We land in cardiff and go to the Stadium for the normal walk-out. Then over to our hotel and after that everything will be as before in terms of meals etc. What do think of Toulouse and their fantastic record in the Heineken? Very impressive. They are a quality side who have a great record, a great tradition in the competition and its hard to beat that.
