Champagne Moments 7 May

Again, we would like to thank Shaun Payne for taking time to answer some questions from Supporters. With the Magners League allready decided and that big game on the 24th are we likely to see a pre season type encounter against Glasgow this Saturday? No. There is a chance for us to to end up second in the League while there is also the opportunity for guys to make a case for inclusion in the Heineken Cup final. Does the ticket/travel and accomodation mania that goes on with fans prior to a final come to the attention of the players? Of course it does, it would be hard not to. After all they have friends and family members tryng to get over there and so there is an awareness of the difficulties. But its all part of the occasion. Toulouse V Munster is the final all neutrals wanted to see. Do the players care about the pedigree of the opposition? I dont think ‘care’ is the proper word. Of course the pedigree of an opponent in any given game has to be a factor, but maybe not so in a final because it is a final. Any side that reachs the final of the Heineken Cup is a good side make no mistake about that. Munster always respect opponents no matter what game it is. Have Sarries poor results in the GP before and after the semi helped to concentrate the mind on the task ahead for the final? I don’t think we have been taking that much heed of Sarries results. Our form before the semi wasn’t particulrly good nor wasour performance in the Llanelli game so. If we need to look at the results of a side who aren’t involved in the final to concentrate our minds then we’re in trouble. Toulouse should be more than enough to focus our attention on. Garryowen V Con, whos the money on? Really difficult to say. Two good sides. All I’ll say is I think its going to be a great game and I just hope people come out and support. They’ll see a great game if they do. Questions posed by Brian Padden The previous Champagne Moments can be viewed HERE Filed by Darren Desmond 08 May 2008
