Mrsc Ticket Allocation – Q&a Response From Munster Rugby

Below are answers from Munster Rugby to queries raised by members with regard to the number of full members for next year. 1. At the Repurposing Meeting, we were advised that there would not be any increase in club allocation and that increased capacity would be split between visiting team, 10 year/corporate and MRSC. MRSC were tasked with increasing club to 10,000 members all with season tickets and Heineken Cup entitlement. The MRSC proposals in this regard were submitted in January 2007. Why were the Supporters Club not advised before now that such a target was unattainable? A. The Munster Clubs had an option to increase their allocation of tickets when Thomond Park was re-developed. The uptake for season tickets from the clubs along with 10 year tickets significantly exceeded the expectations we had 2/ 3 years ago and thus reduced the anticipated availability for MRSC. 2. Even if the clubs return all 5,000 extra tickets that they have requested over the coming years, it means that maximum for Supporters Club membership is 8,000. This indicates that objective (or aspiration as some appear to prefer) was never attainable. Why were you party to setting an objective when at the time (with 10 year and club allocations signed), you knew it was unachievable. A. Discussions took place as to what would be a minimum ideal season ticket base. Through circumstances, some out of our control, this is currently not achievable
