Academy Graduation

On Friday 22nd February, graduating members of the Munster Rugby Academy from 2006/7 received their Diplomas at their graduation ceremony. Tom Gleeson, Gerry Hurley, Anthony Kavanagh, Mark Melbourne, Ross Noonan and Gary Walsh were all presented with their diplomas. Darragh Hurley was conferred in abstentia as he was receiving his first Ireland A cap in Scotland. All graduates received a Diploma in Professional Rugby Studies. This was the very first conferring of such a Diploma in the country. The Diploma was awarded by HETAC (Higher Education & Training Award Council) in recognition of three years educational and rugby work within the Academy. Anthony Kavanagh was also recognized as the Student of the Year and received a special award in this regard.
