Bdelays In Buttevant – Consider Alternative Routes From Limerick

The AA Roadwatch website is reporting 30 minute delays through Buttevant due to roadworks which are expected to continue until 18:30. A number of alternative routes are available to those travelling from Limerick to Cork today. OPTION 1 After passing through Ballyhea, after Charleville, take left turn for Doneraile (R522 – signposted Mitchelstown). In Doneraile, turn right for Newtwopothouse which will bring you back onto the Limerick Cork Road Option 2 At Rourke’s Cross (crossroads with disused petrol station Bruree and on to Kilmallock. Pass through Kilmallock for Ardpatrick. After passing through Ardpatrick towards Kildorrery, take a right turn through Glenanaar Woods signposted Castle Oliver Viewing Point ( Note – do not take left turn to Castle Oliver) This is a narrowish road and will bring you onto the Mallow – Mitchelstown road where you can turn right into Mallow. After 5/6 miles on this road, there is a fork where you need to bear left. OPTION 3 More suited to those from East and North Limerick is to travel via Hospital in Mitchelstown and the via new motorway into Cork using the tunnel. This has the advantage of not needing to travel through Cork city The document below has a map and route guide which may be of assistance Filed by Tony McGrath 301107
