Mcscrum – David Noble R.i.p.

It is with great sadness that many supporters heard of the passing of David Noble this week. David was better known to most supporters as McScrum. There are very few supporters who would not have encountered David outside the Dolphin side of Musgrave Park or at Hassetts Cross outside Thomond Park or very many overseas venues in Italy, France and GB. The Irish Independent recently had tributes from Philp Walton and Christy O’Connor Jr. to David. Christy O’Connor Junior described Mr Noble as "a great friend. He was a very, very knowledgeable and educated man". Mr O’Connor said Mr Noble had caddied for him when he came third in the the British Master in 1991. "I am very sad to hear what happened. It is a terrible shock," Mr O’Connor said. The funeral mass takes place in Rathfarnham Church, Dublin on Friday morning at 11am Supporters can send messages and stories through the McSports website or can post on the Messageboards’ Threads There will be a minute’s silence for David prior to the Munster v Leinster game at Musgrave Park this Friday Filed by Tony McGrath 291107
