Guidance From Dept. Of Foreign Affairs

Below is a message from of the Dept of Foreign Affairs to Trish Drinan of Munster Rugby which may be of assistance to people travelling to Cardiff for the weekend. You might consider printing off the downloadable document Trish, You will recall that we discussed the possibility of the Munster Branch assisting this Department’s attempts to disseminate the attached advice as widely as possible. I would be grateful if you could help us in this. The advice touches off various subjects that may be of concern to travelling support, and is the result of consultation with the Welsh authorities and our own information. It will appear on our website, www.dfa.ie, with a dedicated link from tomorrow morning. On the problems faced in 2002 by Munster fans in Cardiff International Airport, the Consul-General met with the airport authorities who detailed the plans in place to avoid a repeat of the chaos. I will be travelling to Cardiff as part of a supplementary consular support team and will be available should you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, Luke Feeney Consular Section Department of Foreign Affairs
