Some Messages Received So Far

The following are just 3 of the many messegaes hat have been sent to the team prior to Friday’s crucial HEC game in Castres: From Harry To the lads Best of luck from all of those of us in Dublin, this game is a huge one and we are confident that you can once again lift your game to bring home the points. YOU ARE THE BETTER TEAM NEVER FORGET THAT, BELIEVE IN YOURSELVES AND REMEMBER YOU HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE. WE WILL BE TRAVELLING TO SUPPORT YOU, AND WE’LL DO OUR BEST TO MAKE SOME NOISE. EVERYONE IN THE LADYBOY MEDIA HAS WRITTEN YOU OFF AGAIN, PROVE THEM WRONG, DON’T LISTEN TO THE GAYLORDS. DECY YOU HAVE THE MAGIC FRENCH TWIST, MAKE IT WORK AGAIN, STAY CALM, STAY COLLECTED AND DON’T RISE TO ANY CASTRES INDISCIPLINE. LETS BEAT THESE GUYS OFF THE PITCH AND SEND A MESSAGE TO EUROPE WE BELONG IN THE QUARTER FINALS, WE ARE MUNSTER. From Ryan O’Reilly This is it – crunch time! No need to tell you the importance of the game. We, as Munster rugby fans, know that each and every one of you numbers 1-50 including back room staff: That you will give it your all. That you will fight for every inch. That you will dominate your opposite number. That you will not budge in the face of adversity. That you will claim what is rightfully yours. That you will remember the noisy french crowds are just that -noisy!! That you have the power! That you and your colleagues make up a fantastic team – respected by opponents and adored by fans. You are Munster – You are the priviliged Men in Red! You are the Red Army – You are the Kings of Munster! You have been chosen -because you are the best -who says you can’t have the game of your life?? Go on out there and spread the Gospel according to Munster! Go out there and beat Castres! GO ON MUNSTER – If you think you are beaten you are If you think you dare not, you don’t If you’d like to win, but don’t think you can It’s almost certain you won’t Life’s battles don’t always go to To the strongest or faster man, But sooner or later, the man who wins is the man who says he can! WEAR THE RED WITH PRIDE – PRIDE IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU AND OTHER CLUBS – PRIDE AND HISTORY! GO OUT AND MAKE SOME HISTORY! From Dave O’Shaughnessy aka The Hakaman The HAKAMAN will be travelling down to Castres this Friday with a 10-party crew, and will be travelling with the intention of roaring you lads to victory, which I fully expect yee to secure! Munster minds are focused, and Munster hearts are beating proud, Castres, yee watch out ya goons, We’re bringing a raucous crowd! the time for fun and games is up we’ve forcused on the task at hand so catch the ball, roll that maul that’ll silence their flageolate band who cares about the drink or girls we’ve come here to seal the win with POC and PUC, DOC and Duck We’ll Win, we’ll win, we’ll WIN! STAND UP AND FIGHT MUNSTER! From Colman O’Flynn Lads, Again the sole purpose of this week has been to get to Friday morning so that another odessey can begin. It is hard to put down in words the thrill that can be gotten from watching someone you don’t know and have only ever shaken hands with leave someone on his arse with a huge hit or a show of a ball and a burst of pace. This is why the wallet was quiet for the last few weeks and why we are ready to do our part, small and all as it is. We do this because of the sure and certain knowledge that you will do your part when the time comes. Watching Munster play, watching you play, is a privilege that few can ever hope to understand. Thanks for giving me that privilege. Best of luck on Friday and you can be assured of our full, vocal and unequivocal support. From Paul O’Keeffe There is no doubt about it, in the last five years munster rugby has gripped the heart of my tiny kerry parish with a ferocity I couldn’t believe. The chat is better and the pints taste better on heineken cup weekend. Nothing stirs the blood more than being pilgrims in a hostile land. Nothing drives the spirit like a battle in the heartland of enemy territory. Believe me, whether you play Ballyheigue in hurling (our mortal enemies) or Castres in the south of France, Focus and Discipline is the key. Your best is all we expect. From Paul Quinn another in what I’m sure is a long list of good luck messages. Speaking for those of us who unfortunately can’t be there on Friday evening, I just wanted to wish you all the best & let you all know that for every red-shirted lunatic you see in the crowd in that stadium, there are a hundred more in pubs, clus & sitting rooms across the province & beyond. We’ll be shouting just as loud as those out there with you, for every maul & scrum a mighty "Heave!", for every high hanging garryowen ROG launches, a roar to tingle the spine of the oposition fullback, for every kick at goal, reverant silence & for every try you score uncontrolled celebration. We’ll be willing you on with all our strength. So just remember, when you pull on that jersey & that hallowed crest rests over your heart, what that jersey means & that you have been selected to wear it because you are the best. We are Munster & we belong on the highest stage rugb y provides, so go out there & show the rest of the world, what we in Munster already know. Get your messages of goodluck into the team NOW !
