Linda Molloy:
“This will be my fourth year on the MRSC committee, I have spent my time as a member helping out with promoting the Junior Club, specifically the Junior Club Christmas party and Job for a Day, the 6 county quiz, pre-match lunches and much more.
A large part of my role is looking after the MRSC pool of photographers, which I am part of since 2011. We ensure we have two MRSC photographers at every home game to capture the action and the supporters in the stands and terraces.
I am very proud of all the hard work the MRSC Committee puts into everything and hope we can bring you more fun events this season. #SUAF”
Ian Buckley:
“I have been a member of the MRSC Committee for longer than I can remember ! I am currently Oscar’s chaperone which is great fun. I always enjoy talking to members at games and being able to assist where possible.
I think the Junior Club Christmas party is the greatest kick of the season. We are looking forward to building on the initiatives from last season, the free buses to PRO12 games, 6 County Quiz and hopefully some new ideas too.”
David Kearney:
“This is year four for me on the MRSC Committee – last season I organised the Waterford leg of the MRSC provincial quiz, helped out with the Junior Club Christmas party, and minded CJ when he decided to pop over to the MRSC Bar!
I was part of the Junior Club promotional team in the Milk Market during the Limerick Culture Night in 2015 and often promote the club before games. I’m really looking forward to this season and making it great for our members.”
Elaine Blackshields
“I was co-opted onto Committee in 2005 – I had been helping out with some events and a committee member at the time had to step down I joined the team. I was put in charge of the Junior Club, and from there we have seen it grow into what it is today.
My biggest achievement? “Discovering” Oscar with fellow committee member Ian Buckley. I think our biggest success last season was our Giant Munster quiz. Hopefully we can continue that success for 2016/2017.”
Mark Meehan:
“I am heading into my third season on the MRSC Committee with the one goal of trying to raise the profile of the MRSC and Munster Rugby which to me is a truly special club.
I try to involve myself in all items the Committee undertake and I can truly say we work hard as a group to make sure that what our Supporters give to Munster in terms both financially and vocally is recognized and fostered.
One of my key match day roles since the year 2003 is handing out Munster flags as part of a team of volunteers at most games across the seasons both home and away.”
Noel Stewart
“I have been on Committee for a number of years. I took a break for a year and have been Chairman for the last 2 seasons which is a great honour.
Over my time on the MRSC Committee I have really enjoyed meeting members, Munster Rugby staff and learning how the different groups in Munster Rugby work together.
Looking forward hopefully to a better season result wise but can’t wait to catch up with the crew on match days – stewards like Joe Sheahan, our MRSC Bar stairs minder. Aodhan, Kirby and Joanna who look after our members in MRSC Bar and Tony and Imelda and other fellow members who are always entertaining on the terraces.”
Robert Gloster:
“This is my fifth year as a member of the MRSC Committee, some of you might recognise me from the Ennis and Limerick legs of the giant quiz.
I feel my role as a committee member is to try bring about positive change that will enhance members pride in the club and Munster Rugby through events, competitions and match day experience.
Long before I joined the committee my pre match ritual has been to hang the clubs large banners and surf our large flags in the crowd, both in Thomond and around Europe.”
John O’Dell
“Currently the third longest serving member on the committee and enjoying every year in which I have been involved. The variety of events organised each year and the issues dealt with internally and with service providers have helped shape and improve the Supporters Club.
I have been a member of the MRSC since 1999 and now have two sons who travel with me to homes games and give me an insight on the thoughts of our junior members.
We, the committee, strive yearly to improve the product being provided to our fellow members and in these current times with Munster’s team building, the Supporters Club are embarking on change with improving the services being offered to its members through off field events like the six county quiz last season and also adding to the match day experience with events in the MRSC bar and through new initiatives being rolled out this season.”
