Munster have completed their squad for the coming season with the news that they've signed former South African Schools captain and Springboks Under-20 flanker CJ Stander.

The 22-year-old is about to finish his first season in Super 15 rugby and it’s been an outstanding one for the Bulls forward, who has scored four tries in 13 matches. The Bulls lie 5th in the overall table after finishing second in the South African Super 15 Conference.

Stander will join Munster on a two year contract - subject to being granted a work permit and passing the requisite fitness test - once his commitment to the Bulls in the Super 15 and Currie Cup has ended.

The South African will be vying for a place in the starting side with Barry O'Mahony the former Dolphin now Clontarf flanker who has been given a Development contract. O'Mahony played in both Ireland Club internationals last season and scored a crucial try in the British & Irish Cup semi-final victory over Leinster

Munster have also completed their coaching team for the coming season. It was confirmed that Paul McCarthy has extended his contract as Scrum Coach. McCarthy became full time Scrum Coach at the start of the 2010/11 season with additional responsibility for identifying and developing front row talent to feed into the Munster professional set-up. From Cork the former Munster and Ireland prop featured on the Munster side that famously defeated Australia in Musgrave Park in 1992.
