Adidas and Munster Rugby today officially revealed the club's new 2010/2011 alternative kit, which will see Munster wearing a unique black and green strip for the first time in the club's history.

Munster will wear the alternative kit on pitch for the first time when they play Leicester Tigers in a pre-season friendly in Musgrave Park on Friday 20th August.

The new kit features the very best of adidas technologies including ForMotion™ and Techfit™. The rugby specific ForMotion™ technology ensures that the kit is constructed to give maximum comfort and movement to the rugby player, whether passing the ball, flying through the tackles or in the scrum. Techfit Powerweb™ technology works in unison with ForMotion™ supporting the muscles and the natural expansion and contraction of the body, helping to preserve energy and improve the rugby players movement.

As with the home jersey, the words "wear with pride and honesty" are embossed on the inside of the collar, and the six counties of Munster – Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford - are imprinted along the bottom end of the jersey

Paul Moloney, Head of Sports Marketing, adidas Ireland said: “We have enjoyed a hugely successful partnership with Munster rugby for the past three years. Our partnership has ensured that Munster rugby kit features the very best in technological innovations in sports performance apparel. We look forward to seeing Munster wear the new jersey on the pitch next season”

The new jersey will be available online in the Munster Rugby store and instore in Cork and Limerick from August 12th, retailing at €57.

Fans can pre order the jersey from the Munster Rugby Store from July 22nd. The new Munster training range will also be available in-store from August 12th.

Supporters club members are reminded that membership entitles you to a 10% discount in the Munster Rugby Store.

Munsterism

It was a pleasure to play these two games. The Munster fans are really fantastic. The atmosphere when a kick at goal was being taken was something special, everything quiet, and it’s the way rugby should be played. And it's not just me, the young players in our dressing room are saying the same thing.
