The Dublin Branch of the Munster Rugby Supporters Club held its annual Table Quiz last Thursday night May 6th. It was held in Break for the Border, the MRSC base in the capital, and featured Peter “The Claw” Clohessy as special guest MC.

As always the Dublin-based members turned out in numbers to support a worthy cause, with well over 30 teams competing for an array of prizes.
It was no stroll in the park however, as quizmaster Paul gave everyone’s brains a good workout with a variety of music and video-based questions, combined with a rugby round and the ever popular dingbats. The Claw kept everyone on track and his experience running Limerick’s Sin Bin shone through when he threatened to issue a few yellow cards of his own!

As the quiz came to an end and final scores were being tallied, an impromptu Q&A with Peter ensued. He was happy to chat, with people getting the chance to find out stuff like who was the best forward he ever played with- Keith Wood- and the best back- BOD himself Brian O’Driscoll.

Shortly afterwards the Quiz winners were announced and with a top score of 63 points "He's Digging Like a Demented Mole" aka Ronan Walsh, PJ Power, David Cahill and Jim Whelan bagged themselves tickets for Thomond Park to see Ireland v Barbarians complete with accommodation in Jury's Inn. The Claw generously threw in a VIP night in the Sin Bin so we hope they make it back alive!

Runners up “The Bar Keeps” are heading off for a four ball and lunch in Rathsallagh House, Wicklow, while a host of other lucky winners nabbed a variety of raffle prizes ranging from a weekend in the Malin Hotel up in Donegal to bottles of wine.

The Table Quiz and raffle was in aid of The Arts for Peace Foundation, helping underprivileged children in the Moyross area and the amount raised will be announced shortly.

It was a great night and everyone's support was much appreciated. A huge thank you to our generous sponsors and to all the volunteers who made it happen from the MRSC Dublin Branch Committee.

Munsterism

We just felt numb at the final whistle. It was harder to take this time. This was another opportunity gone and for some of us it was going to be the last opportunity. Having to walk up the steps once again to collect our losers medals was hard to take.
