Jennifer Kiernan, Munster Rugby Supporters Club Manager, presented Ian Sherwin, Academy Manager, with a cheque of €130,000 at the Munster v Scarlets game in Musgrave Park on yesterday evening.

The contribution together with the proceeds from the Giant Draw assists greatly with the development of the Academy. Within the last twelve months the Academy have expanded their lifestyle management programme, purchased essential video analysis equipment, recruited two part time physiotherapists and invested in additional lifestyle modules such as culinary classes to educate the players on food and nutrition.

Ian Sherwin is very thankful to the Munster Rugby Supporters Club for the funding over the last number of years. “The Munster Rugby Supporters Club provides us with vital funding needed for the continued development and growth of the academy”.

Players that have come through the Academy in recent years include Thomas O’Leary, Keith Earls, Billy Holland, Tommy O’ Donnell, Dave Ryan, Tom Gleeson and Scott Deasy.

MRSC are proud to play their part in creating the heroes of tomorrow today.

Munsterism

I hesitate to use words like spiritual or religious, but to see what rugby means to Munster people is very moving
