The Munster Rugby Supporters Club was established in 1999 with the purpose of unifying Munster supporters throughout the province and beyond.

The Munster Branch recognised the importance of creating a base for people who were not affiliated to any particular rugby club, or indeed people who didn't live in Munster, and yet wanted to support the Munster Rugby team.

It took the Supporters Club two years to reach 500 members. By the 2002/3 season, there was a waiting list in place as the capacity at Thomond Park was such that Heineken Cup tickets could only be provided to a certain number with membership of the Supporters Club.

In 2004, Associate Membership of the Supporters Club was launched. Associate Members have all the benefits of Full Membership except that of entitlement to tickets for Heineken Cup matches. Associate membership increased the overall grouping of Munster supporters and harnesses support for Munster Rugby teams. It increased the Club Membership number to over 4,000.

Following Munster’s historic Heineken Cup win of 2006 and the dedicated work of both the management and voluntary committee of the Supporters Club the number of members continued to grow to over 9,000.

Today, there are over 11,000 adult members of the Supporters Club and following the launch of the Junior Club in 2005, a further 1,200 junior members.

The Supporter’s Club have contributed hugely to the Munster Rugby Academy over the last number of years and are proud to play their part in creating the heroes of tomorrow .

The Supporters Club provides the Academy with vital funding needed for the continued development and growth of the academy. Players that have come through the Academy include Thomas O’Leary, Keith Earls, Billy Holland, Tommy O’ Donnell, Dave Ryan, Tom Gleeson, Simon Zebo, Conor Murray and Scott Deasy.

From its humble beginnings 13 years ago ... the Supporters Club now proudly also boosts it own members’ bar in Thomond Park Stadium, its very own Choir and has Branches in Dublin, London, Brussels and the US !
